It gathers experts from theoretical and applied mathematics departments from Grenoble and Chambéry.
We aim at studying the complexity of the geometry of a mathematical object (e.g. a manifold) through three different aspects : its metric (that is, the way distances are measured on the object), its dynamics (i.e. the trajectories followed by particles moving on it) and its spectrum (i.e. its resonance frequencies).
More specifically, we intend to study extremal manifolds for invariants describing this complexity in each of the above items.
